Private Photo Workshop in NY

Teaching photography was an amazing experience for me. The student was highly motivated and excited, ready to photograph just about anything. It reminded me of the days when I was studying photojournalism at the University of Miami. Back then, everyday was filled with the excitement and challenge of shooting and editing images. It was so FUN to learn about photography and to go out to take photographs. During this workshop, I wanted the student to feel the excitement and joy of creating photography. Here is her testimonial.

After having done a beginner photography course two years ago, I had been thinking that I needed a push to get to the next stage in order to improve my photos. I was lucky to find Miho to help me to achieve this. I spent the most fascinating five days in New York discovering its million of secrets that are now captured in my camera. She put together a very exciting plan with diverse locations to visit in the city that never sleeps. We were shooting on the Top of the Rock, The National Library, The Central Station, Chelsea Market, Highline and the spectacular Brooklyn, (among other places, squares and avenues). She helped me to better understand the different options in my camera, encouraged me to shoot with different setups from different angles and explained me the importance of composition. After hundreds of shots, I was impressed with the result: when I had my pictures printed on the last day of the course, it was like holding postcards. There is no comparison between my pictures before and after the workshop; now they are saying something.

The following images were shot with Miho’s iPhone during the workshop.

GRAND PRIZE OF PDN Top Knots 2012!!!

A few months ago I received an email from PDN magazine, an American magazine for professional photographers which was first published in 1980. The message read: "Congratulations on being selected as a PDN Top Knots Finalist!" and I was so excited that my engagement photo, "Love Portrait in Tokyo | Yuki + Yohei" would be featured in that magazine! I couldn't believe it until the day I actually saw my images on their digital edition. I had no idea which prize I received until they published the issue and I was totally stunned when my prize was the GRAND PRIZE, which is the best prize of PDN Top Knots. What a thrill!!

You can see more photos of this smiley + cute couple here, "Love Portrait in Tokyo | Yuki + Yohei".

Also, check out PDN winner's gallery.
